About Me

I am a licensed therapist with a Master’s degree in Counseling from Fort Hays State University. My professional background includes experience as a school counselor, hospital-based therapist, community mental health provider, and private practice clinician. These diverse settings have strengthened my ability to meet clients exactly where they are and understand the many challenges individuals and families face.

I am known for being compassionate, caring, and genuinely invested in the well-being of the people I serve. My clinical passions include perinatal mental health—supporting individuals and families through pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood—as well as mental health within agricultural communities. I believe in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow.

About Root and Rise

Root & Rise was chosen because it reflects both where healing begins and where growth leads.

ROOT

Root represents grounding, safety, and connection—knowing where you come from and building stability from the inside out. In therapy, this means slowing down, tending to the core of who you are, and understanding the experiences, values, and relationships that shape you. Just as strong roots anchor a tree through storms, therapy helps clients establish resilience, self-awareness, and a sense of belonging.

RISE

Rise speaks to hope, movement, and transformation. It honors the courage it takes to grow beyond pain, to reach for something healthier, and to step into change—even when growth feels uncomfortable. Rising doesn’t mean erasing the past; it means using what you’ve learned to move forward with strength and intention.

Together, Root & Rise captures the heart of the therapeutic journey: grounding before growth, healing at the foundation, and creating space to rise into a fuller, more authentic life. It reflects a belief that with the right support, people can be both deeply rooted and continually growing.
